Job Title: Dispensing Optician

Hours: Full time. 40 hours

Globally, our ophthalmic surgeons have a combined surgical experience of over 1,000 years practising ophthalmology and over 700 years performing refractive surgery. Every year in the UK, more than double the number of patients trust Optical Express to perform their laser eye surgery than any other provider. In a study completed in September 2014 of 336,381 Optical Express patients with the most common prescriptions we treat, over 99% achieved 20/20 vision or better following treatment.

 

Role

As the Stores Dispensing Optician, you will be responsible for the operational efficiency of the store to exceed sales targets and deliver on a wide range of key performance indicators. A key part of your role will be developing the team to ensure excellent customer service and professionalism. This is an operational role with accountability for achieving profit contribution, sales, productivity and performance targets through effective planning and managing of resources to deliver key business objectives.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The ideal candidate must be a qualified Dispensing Optician and registered with the FAOI

Highly motivated, personable with a friendly attitude

A real passion for Optical Retailing, with a strong desire to exceed customer expectations

There is a strong emphasis on commercial focus in this role. You will find innovative ways of increasing your customer database, including networking and social events

Exceptional customer service focus

 

You will report directly to the Store Manager in order:

 

To ensure all customers entering the store are approached within five feet and five seconds

To follow company procedure for the agreed patient journey. To ensure a three-way handover with the Optometrist

Ensure all customers are advised on the most suitable and appropriate products for their needs

To deliver the highest standard of customer service to every customer

To accurately maintain all manual and computerised customer records in accordance with Data Protection

To exhibit excellent knowledge of the process and genuine interest in the laser procedure

Maintaining up to date knowledge on products and associated key features and benefits

Work closely with other store associates to achieve overall store objectives

Stock checking and ordering

To ensure adherence to all company policy / procedure and relevant legislation in all areas of work

To demonstrate a flexible approach and to undertake any additional duties as directed by the Store Management

Minimum Requirements
