The Company


Optical Express is a world leader in selected eyecare services.  We provide employee eyecare solutions to corporate organisations across the UK and Ireland, and are now looking for a Corporate Business Development Manager who will forge lasting relationships with businesses, as well as account-managing our current corporate partners.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The Role


We are looking for a Corporate Business Development Manager with a proven track record of achievement in a commercial environment – not necessarily in the optical industry. They will have the confidence and skills to be the main force behind generating new sales leads and contacts. The successful applicant will help to drive both corporate and strategic brand partnerships aligned to the business’s objectives, and have previous experience of successful account and relationship management.


It is anticipated that they will have experience in developing strategic partnerships, and will have delivered a sizeable and sustainable income stream in a retail environment.


They will develop and manage their own portfolio of accounts, and work to predefined key performance indicators designed to deliver on overarching commercial objectives.

This role requires the ability to contribute to the bigger sales strategic picture, as well as handling the fine detail of day-to-day account management.

  • Works with technical, marketing and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs
  • Tracks and records activity on accounts and closes partnership deals to meet agreed targets
  • Submits weekly progress reports and ensures data is accurate
  • Identifies and applies for tender opportunities which will benefit the business
  • Works with the wider team to ensure that tender opportunities are fulfilled within the required timescale
  • Presents business development training and mentoring to staff across the business when required
