Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Regional Manager to join Optical Express covering the Northern Home Counties. As a member of the regional field team and reporting to the Operations Director, your role will be to effectively manage the business in order to hit challenging but achievable commercial targets. The Regional Manager will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact, with the autonomy to lead a dedicated team of professionals committed to delivering excellence in customer service standards and as well as maximising regional sales in all business disciplines and individual store performance.

 

 

Optical Express surgeons have performed over 1 million refractive surgery procedures worldwide. In a recent survey of 252,179 Optical Express patients, over 99% told us they would recommend us to their family and friends. Globally, our ophthalmic surgeons have a combined surgical experience of over 1,000 years practising ophthalmology and over 700 years performing refractive surgery. Every year in the UK, more than double the number of patients trust Optical Express to perform their laser eye surgery than any other provider. In a study completed in September 2014 of 336,381 Optical Express patients with the most common prescriptions we treat, over 99% achieved 20/20 vision or better following treatment

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Meeting or exceeding sales targets for the region and through maximising sales performance and profitability of each location.
  • Maximise Laser Vision Consultation income where applicable.
  • Ensure that the company’s consultation lead time is maintained at all times.
  • Ensure that every associate within the Region fully embraces and understands all Vision Correction options available at Optical Express and to ensure this information is conveyed to Patients and Customers with passion and enthusiasm.
  • Take personal ownership and responsibility for the recruitment, performance, development and retention of Store Managers across the Region, through quality processes in conjunction with HR.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training and development of store Associates to ensure that all stores have the correct staffing profile to meet with their specific requirements, including daily footfall demands.
  • Setting performance management objectives for all Store Managers, and ensuring that there is a robust performance review process implemented for all Managers and their respective Store Teams in the region, in order to create highly motivated and capable teams.
  • Monitor progress of Store Managers against agreed objectives and actions.
  • Ensure that all Team Members have the appropriate understanding of all Optical Express products and services.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication networks between all stores in the region with Head Office Associates and ensure that a “One Team” ethos prevails at all times.
  • Overall responsibility for all aspects of Health and Safety for Stores and Associates in the region and to ensure that all guidelines and legal requirements are upheld.

  • Strong leadership & influencing capabilities
  • Strategic skills and confidence to drive the business forward
  • An ability to turn ideas into practical workable solutions
  • Successful proven record of achievement in a multi site retail business environment at a senior management level
  • Successful proven experience of multi site management within a geographically diverse organisation
  • Demonstrate a record of involvement with successful change management programmes within a customer facing organisation
  • Current working knowledge of all major Optical retailing environments within the UK & Ireland
  • Use of Microsoft based IT programmes including Excel, Word, and Outlook or similar
